Dacor short for (Distinctive Appliance Corporation) a family owned business got its start when Stan Joseph opened a small appliance store in Northern California. The Dacor line focuses on creating innovative products for the kitchen. Stan used his innovative talents to create the first complete kitchen ventilation system and indoor electric barbecue grill for his wife Florence. |

Dacor was founded as a company when Stan and Florence Joseph were no longer content to just sell appliances they wanted to design and build exceptional appliances. Their two sons, Michael and Anthony would later join the family business. |

Dacor records $50,000 in annual sales. Michael Joseph is the CEO and brother Tony Joseph is vice chairman. |

1983 |
Dave Wick, the future senior vice president and chief advisor to CEO, Mike Joseph, joins Dacor as a district sales manager for the Midwest. |

Distinctive Appliance Corp has retained Tri State distributors in Spokane, Wash., to handle the Dacor line of upscale cooking appliances in parts of the Northwest. |

DACOR launches the multi-million dollar campaign "Life of the Kitchen" highlighting the company's commitment to family, home and the community. |

DACOR announce the addition of the ERD60 Dual Fuel Range with a capacity that makes it one of the largest commercial-style ranges for home use on the market is added to its award-winning line of
Epicure(TM) appliances. Dacor introduces a 30" microwave convection hood in October. |

Dacor launches a new website to help consumers quickly learn about features, benefits, use and care of DACOR's extensive product line, from wall ovens, cook-tops and ranges to dishwashers, outdoor grills, and ventilation systems. |

Dacor records around $200 million in sales and announced two high level promotions. George Simadiris was promoted to vice president of Engineering, and David J. Jordan was promoted to senior director of Quality Assurance (QA). |

Dacor adds to its management team with the addition of Ric
Brutocao. Brutocao will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the company and will report directly to Dacor Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, S. Michael Joseph. |
